Girls Who Consult was founded in 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic by Belicia Tan, an ex-consultant and alumna of Columbia University and University of Michigan. GWC started as a 5-week training program with professional development workshops and one-on-one mentorship, we have expanded our impact through building a talent pipeline with consulting firms of various sizes and industries, providing pro-bono consulting services for social impact-driven organizations, and collaborating with consulting clubs across colleges in the U.S.​​
